It was commonplace to welcome family, friends of friends, and strangers to the table of Velma Tucker, neè Vellemar Morton. Well fed were they who were gifted a seat at her table, nestled in the mountains of Bluefield, West Virginia.
A domestic worker of over 50 years as housekeeper for one of Bluefield's oldest and most distinguished families, Mrs. Tucker's deft skills in the kitchen served daily meals and banquets with equal warmth and love.
Her eldest daughter, Cecilia Tucker Myers (CC), continues her legacy by sharing some of our family favorites with you and your loved ones. From our family to yours, we put lots of love and careful attention in each item; we hope you enjoy our love's labor as much as we enjoy sharing it with you.
